i played league with an old friend not too long ago
it was literally him on botlane three games in a row
we lost all of them
in the last one, he was draven adc and he told me to go naut support
into a nami/ezreal
i told him we lv2 all-in or we lose lane
smartass third friend joins call to say ‘well normally it’s lv3’ and blathers
i respond with ‘i said we lv2 all in or we’re gonna get kited and die’
proceeds to try arguing
leaves when i tell him to eat it
we go to lv2
i hit huge lag spike
miss anchor, try to make up for it but get jerked all over the place by lag
no progress is made, i back and tell him to back so their minions will push
he doesn’t
he dies
i hear him sigh
i go in on them when the lead they have is still nominal by anchoring nami
he focuses nami, we both die
tells me to stop landing hooks on nami
we go into a teamfight and we lose horribly
he lags out of skype call that whole time but was able to throw his ‘no’ vote to the surrender vote that went up immediately after
i proceed to tell him i’m going to bed before i get too pissed off
did I handle this badly? like, beyond just lol issues, did I handle this bad as a friend when I told him to “start carrying” when he vehemently argued he could 1v1 the Ez, despite their whole team being fed and us losing hardcore?

1. Invading has little to do with paranoia and more to do with who is jungling and how good your lvl1 team is. If your lvl1 team is better than theirs, it’s silly to not invade. If you are a competent player, not only will you steal blue and set their jungler back, you’ll probably get first blood.
2. Top/bot taking Golem’s and mid taking Wraiths is in no way stealing because that’s what they do after they push a lane into the turret. They are preventing their laning opponent from getting exp and they are grabbing more exp for themselves. Not like it matters anyways after the first clear who takes what anyways~ Furthermore, you have ganks to do or the other jungle to invade instead of farming creeps in the jungle. A jungler’s sole purpose is not to clear camps, amazingly enough. Ability to kill jungle creeps =/= good jungler.

On the same note though, if the jungler’s ganks and counter-jungling are going sour (not trying to say I’m any good at this game just saying that even good junglers do get denied), and the laners are taking every jungle camp they can when they walk through, it is nobody’s fault but the laners when the laners get pissy.
I’ve had far too many games where laners just go roaming through my jungle when none of them set up to get their lane ganked nor do they even bother to help when I’m counter-ganking or counter-jungling. It’s largely the reason I don’t jungle in solo-queue anymore, but it should go without saying that sometimes,sometimesthe jungler needs to clear camps to keep up.
There needs to be a level of cooperation between junglers and laners, not this “you are a jungler go gank for your gold you fucking noob” bullshit that I see every in just about every game I jungle in (Once, my midlaner, a Brand, took my blue from me as a Nautilus and told me that good junglers can go without blue pre-Lv4 and if I can’t then I should uninstall). If your jungler is underleveled compared to your support (say he’s a gank-heavy jungler like Kha’Zix who needs to get fed and nobody cooperates with him on his gank attempts as an example) and he tells you not to take wraiths, that meansdon’t fucking take those wraiths.If you ignore his calls for jungle camps and tell him he’s just a shitty player, don’t get pissy when he doesn’t gank your lane.
And especiallydon’t start going “well I do [x lane] more than I jungle but with my minor experience at jungling I understand how jungling works hurr durr” like so many “[lane] or feed” players that exist in Ranked.
